Abrasive Wheels
KML Safety Services Ltd. provides a half day training course tailored to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable the delegates to comply with the requirements of legislation relating to the safe use of Abrasive Wheels. The Course includes theory and practical training and certificates will be awarded to successful participants.
Aim:
To provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable operative to use the abrasive wheel safely. It also provides an understanding of abrasive wheels instructing delegates in all aspects of the correct mounting, setting and use of abrasive wheels.
Objectives:
- The hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels
- Identify the methods of marking abrasive wheels as to type and speed
- List the methods of storage, handling and transportation of abrasive wheels
- Show the methods for testing and inspecting wheels for damage
- Demonstrate the correct method of mounting an abrasive wheel including knowledge of the function of the components
- Show the method of dressing the wheel
- To adjust the rest correctly
- The requirements of the regulations
- Risks associated with Power Tools
- Practical training session, from which all delegates will be assessed
